We loved the day time show at the great hotels, including the music fountain show in front of Caesar Palace and the volcano show in front of Mirage, since we could not go to the evening shows while our little kid went to bed before 8pm.
We stayed at Venetian for 3 nights, which has good facilities and smoke free. Not all the hotels on Strip are smoke free I personally loved the outdoor Jacuzzi which ran up until 10pm.
The only downside of the hotel is that the door of our room is not sound-proved. We also went to the Circus which was advertised for children friendly.
There are lots of activities for elder children but not for small kids. There was no play area for small kids.
It is not that easy to walk on the Strip with pushchair. The location of lifts for pushchair is limited. And we found some of the lifts quit dirty with people sleeping inside.
However, driving in Vegas is not that bad, compared to LA. There are plenty of free parking if your destination is that just on the Strip.
We found the food in the hotel restaurant a bit expensive. We also bought the ticket to eat at any of the 7 buffets on Strip within 24hr. The buffets are a bit similar to each other.
I would recommend the one in Paris for dinner, which has a good selection of desserts and the one in Flamingo for lunch.
We did not try the one in Caesar Palace which had a surcharge. The best buffet we found in Vegas was the one in the M Resort Spa Casino, which was in the south of city, away from the city centre.
We stayed 1 night in that hotel. Unfortunately we missed the shows since they were mostly in the evening while our little kid went to bed early in the evening.
We will come back. Las Vegas is mega huge in every-way! We had a great afternoon at the Yard House, excellent food, drinks and service from Paul!
We purchased a 24 hour pass to ride the MonoRail which was good fun and simple to get around quickly, saved the legs and feet too! Lots of walking between events and Casino visits just added something special to our time there and soaking up the atmosphere - being out and about to absorb the local custom and culture.
Sections of roading on the Strip were shut down to allow filming to take place early hours of the mornings for the latest Jason Bourne movie, pretty cool!
People everywhere - young, mature, singles, couples all heading out for a good-time! Big surprise how pleasant and polite the people were amongst the hustle and bustle, no problems at all - very cool!
Las Vegas is definitely an adults playground so parents, leave the kids at home, seriously. The highlight of our trip was the Maverick helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon.
It was expensive but we figured it was a once in a lifetime experience. We took the sunset wind dancer trip and it was amazing- so pleased we took this option ahead of the 11 hour bus trip!
We also managed to book a show to see David copperfield using half price tiiks- despite performing twice a night for close to 20 years we thought his performance was incredible!
He is a great entertainer! We ate at a range of places but particularly enjoyed the breakfasts at los cantina salsa- the Mexican scramble was delicious!
It is easy to use public transport to get around Vegas - from a shopping point of view we preferred the northern outlet shopping centre.
Our trip to the Hoover Dam was excellent, touring the different hotels was great. Our meals were excellent at CarlosCharlies, Hash Hash Brown, etc.
The persons selling Time Shares were annoying after awhile. Before we had a chance to check-in our room at the Flamingo, they stopped us going to the elevators offering a free buffet for 5 of us the next morning before a visit to their office.
We could not get a free breakfast and had to cancel our visit because they did not accept my 46 years old son to go with me to take the place of my husband who was ill in the room.
It is very easy to get around by foot. Unfortunately we did not get around to take the ON and OFF BUS tours or the MONORAIL. We didn't like what we thought we would i.
The strip at first Vegas is all hustle and we're sheep to be fleeced and we are. Everything is designed to give you the least for your buck that they can.
Gambling doesn't subsidize anything. The Mob Museum is great and it looked a lot better then. Food is overpriced for what you get shows give you nothing more than they say and they mostly look like they're going through the motions for a dollar or many.
Once you get away from that it's s uniquely interesting city with lots to experience. The beautiful desert parks Red Rocks and fire Canyon are awesome.
Some great restaurants and bars to find but they're not on the strip. There's good shopping too but again where the locals go. I really enjoy Las Vegas.
Some things are quite pricey, but there is a lot do if you do not want to spend so much, so it caters for everyone. Be ready for a lot of walking, because there is a lot to see and experience.
Taxis are expensive, but there is a bus service that runs which is not too much. They should consider to make an option for like a week to buy a RTC card for the bus, it will work out much better.
There are, at times, some really scrappy characters on the bus and on the strip, which is never a good thing.
It might also be increasing just a bit, so always be alert. Definitely worth a visit, perhaps a couple of times Dining fantastic.
Points and freeplay excellent. The staff so nice. The place is so clean. Great gift shop. The housekeeper - super clean rooms. My pollows fluffy and bed great.
Very quiet in rooms. Love the jets in shower. Cashier cage so good. No long lines. Member benefits rewards!!!!
My room only for 5 nigjts on Booking. All amazing. Easy access uber airport was only Endless hotel options abound on the Strip, from the classic charm of the Flamingo or the Tropicana to the chic Aria or Palazzo.
